The basin plan for the Pasquotank River Basin was finalized on June 12, 2002. The Draft Pasquotank River Basin Plan (dated May 7, 2001) was presented at Final Scoping Meetings, which were held on May 17, 2001, in Elizabeth City and on May 18, 2001, in Manteo. All impacted counties and communities were invited to the Final Scoping Meetings and were provided a final opportunity for input. The Final Pasquotank River Basin Plan contains specific information regarding comments that were received during the Final Scoping Meetings and how the Draft Basin Plan was updated. It also summarizes the scoping phase, outlines how the base maps and topography were acquired, proposes engineering methods by which each flooding source reach will be studied, and describes the process and schedule for completing the map production. The scope of work presented in the Final Basin Plan will be completed by the State's Floodplain Mapping Contractor, Watershed Concepts, a Division of Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern, Inc.
